Ambulance Service
As of April 1, 2025, ambulance service is now Cedar County Ambulance District, based in Stockton. The District owns five (5) ambulances and various state-of-the-art equipment. The District runs two (2) advanced life-suppport ambulances as primary trucks with three (3) advanced life support units as secondary vehicles for maintenance rotation and for event stand-bys around the community.
The professional EMS team consistes of twenty-three (23) Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians. Ambulances are staffed twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week from our two (2) bases, one in Stockton and one in El Dorado Springs.
When county residents are in need of ambulance service, they call 911, the 911 lines are answered by the Cedar County Sheriffs Office dispatch. Our service has immediate access to regional air ambulance services based in Bolivar and Clinton, as well as Springfield. We also have the county hospital Cedar County Memorial Hospital located in El Dorado Springs, Citizens Memorial Hospital located in Bolivar, Nevada Regional Medical Center located in Nevada, Four higher level of care hospitals are located in either Springfield and Joplin.
